The Archive Screen

iMagic's Archive screen is where you can view your history of 'sent items'.

You could sort the items in this list by clicking on any of the three buttons near the top of the screen ('Sent to','Subject','Date/Time'). The first two will sort the messages alpha-numerically to make it easier to find a message sent to a certain e-mail address (or fax number if faxing is activated) or with a certain subject line. The 'Date/Time' button will sort the messages by the date and time they were sent, so finding a message sent on a certain date will be easier.

By clicking on the appropriate button of the picture below, you will be taken to the area regarding that particular topic.

Re-Send the Message
Clicking 'Send' will open the highlighted message in an 'iMagic Message' screen, allowing you to edit the content and/or recipient of the message and re-send it. You can also print the message from this screen.

View the Message
Clicking 'View' will open the highlighted message in a preview screen, allowing you to see the contents of the sent message as the recipient would have seen it. You can also double-click the highlighted message to view it. If, while viewing the selected message, you decide you want to re-send it, you could click the 'Send' button in the lower right-hand corner of the View screen.

Search for a Message
Clicking the 'Find' button will allow you to search for a particular message or messages within the archive of sent items.
There are a few ways to search through the messages, and you can use any combination of the options available:

Quick Search:

Sent to: You can enter an e-mail address (or fax number) to search for, which would return a list of messages sent to a particular recipient. By inserting a partial entry, the search would return a list of messages sent to anybody whose coordinates contained the word(s) or number(s) entered in the search box.

With a subject of: Enter a word or words to search for, and the result will be a list of the messages sent that contain that particular word or words in the subject line of the message.

Date Search:

All Messages: This is the default choice on the 'Date' tab, and it is used when you want to search the whole archive for criteria chosen from another one of the tabs in the 'search' option.

Messages sent between: You will select this when you want to search for messages sent between two dates. When used in conjunction with other search criteria from the other tabs, it will search for that criteria only among messages sent between the two chosen dates.

Messages sent in the past: You will select this when you want to search for messages sent in the last n days or months. Again, when paired with other search criteria, it will search for that criteria only among messages sent based on the selection made here.

Advanced Search:

Where the message contains the following text: This option will search the actual content of the messages and return a list of messages that contain the word or words specified. In a large archive, this text search may take some time because it is actually reading the messages as it searches.

View Entire Archive
Clicking 'Show All' will allow you to view the entire archive of sent messages. This is used after you have done a search for messages and want to return to the full archive.

Print List of Archived Message(s)
Clicking 'Print Receipt' will print a simple list of the highlighted message(s), including the addressee, the subject, and the date and time it was sent. This is only a list of what has been sent out of iMagic and should not be used as confirmation of the addressee(s) having received the message(s).

Delete Message(s)
This button will delete the highlighted message(s). NOTE: Deleting a message cannot be undone, so please make sure you no longer need to keep a message before you delete it.

Exit the Archive
Clicking this button will close the Archive.
