Instructions for Sabre Users

Creating a Message

As you saw earlier in the manual, clicking 'New Message' will open up a blank 'iMagic Message' screen with your chosen template as the backdrop.

Once you've clicked 'Email' (or 'Fax' if the faxing feature is available) from the 'iMagic Message' screen, your message gets passed to Mail Sender.

Quick Itin (PNR)
With a PNR in your Sabre screen, this selection will run a 'DIX' command on the record and open up an 'iMagic Message' screen with the itinerary in it. All that's left to do at this point is insert the e-mail address (or fax number) and add some personal notes (optional, for e-mail only) and click 'Email' or 'Fax'. See 'Sabre Options' below for information on how to have iMagic look for e-mail addresses or fax numbers in your CRS and use them, so you don't even have to type in a customer's coordinates.

NOTE: Remember, in a 'blank' message, what you write directly on the screen will be transmitted by e-mail only. When faxing a 'non-itinerary' message, you should click on the 'Edit Itin' button of the iMagic Message screen and type in your message there.

Export From DWList
From this menu option, choose wether you want to export an Itinerary or an Invoice and iMagic will start working. The first thing you'll see is that iMagic will open up your DWList for you. This is your Sabre Daily Work List and should contain all invoices and itineraries that your agency has created in the past 24 hours. Next, you will be prompted to specify which item on the DWList you wish to export via this little window:

1. Item Box
Type in either the DWList number (ITM column) or the Record Locator number (PNR column) of the item you wish to specify. Note: The item you specify here must be visible on the current DWList page and must be the same type (itinerary or invoice) that you chose from the Export menu above. If you need to move down a page, use the Page Down button.
2. Page Up
This will send a Move Up command to your Sabre screen. You should not use this command when at the top of the DWList.
3. Page Down
This will send a Move Down command to your Sabre screen. You should not use this command when at the bottom of the DWList.
4. ITM / PNR toggle
Use this to specify wether you are entering a value from the ITM column or the PNR column. The default is ITM (DW List number)

Once you click OK, iMagic will export your itinerary or invoice from the DWList for you. If you have specified it in the options, iMagic will open the PE field of this client to retrieve their Email address before presenting you the finished message in an 'iMagic Message' screen.
Clicking Cancel will return you to your iMagic session.

Vax Capture
If you are using the VAX Vacation Access web assistant (Click here to learn more about it), with a record loaded into the VAX screen you could just select the "Vax Capture" option from iMagic's "New Job" menu and an iMagic Message screen will open up with the record in it ready to be sent to your customer.

Sabre Options

Finding E-Mail addresses / Fax numbers

Look in PE field.
If checked, iMagic will open the client's PE field (*PE) when exporting an itinerary or invoice and use the e-mail address found there. IMPORTANT: If you are using Windows XP, you must de-activate the 'Look in PE Field' option, as it does not work on this platform.

Look in remarks.
E-mail: If checked, iMagic will scan the exported remarks (5‡) of your itinerary (or invoice) for a line containing -EMAIL- followed by the client's e-mail address.

example:5‡-EMAIL-yourclient@theirdomain.com

Fax: If checked, iMagic will scan the exported remarks (5‡) of your itinerary (or invoice) for a line containing -FAX- followed by the client's fax number as you would dial it (including the 1 for long distance calls, but with no dashes) and a period at the end.

example:5‡-FAX-12345678910.

Look for CCs
Same as above, except to specify a CC address in remarks. Use -CC-. Make sure that each e-mail address you want to use is on a seperate remark line, with no other information in each remark.
The -CC- option is for e-mail addresses only and will not work with fax numbers.

If your CRS does not let you use the '@' symbol in a remark, simply replace it with an asterisk (*). iMagic will find that and replace it with the '@' before sending.

Note: iMagic will remove these remarks from the body of the message before it is sent to the recipient(s).

Sabre Title (Window Caption)
This is the title that iMagic looks for (in the title bar of your reservation screen) in order to communicate with your Sabre screen. You should only change this if you notice that iMagic is having problems. Other possible titles are 'Sabre ' and 'Sabre -' without the quotes.

MySabre
If you are using MySabre, then you should check this box (and make sure the Window Caption is "Sabre Travel Network") so that iMagic works properly for you.

Sabre WebTop (Evoya)
If you are using Sabre's Evoya platform, then you should check this box so that iMagic works properly for you.

Skip errors
This is for debugging purposes only and should not be activated unless instructed to do so by MagnaTech personnel.

TRIP's Unused Ticket Report

If your agency has the MagnaTech TRIP program with the Unused Ticket Manager (UTM) feature and the agents using iMagic want to view the most current UTM report that was saved, the option should be checked.

To view the report, the agents simply need to go to iMagic's Archive screen and click the drop-down menu for TRIP Features and select the UTM Report option. From the ensuing screen, the user can sort the report, search through it (for a particular client, for example), and send the full report (or the search results) to a client via iMagic.

TRIP Viewer Path

If your agency has the MagnaTech TRIP program and the agents using iMagic want to view TRIP's Archive of invoices, they will need to adjust these settings. This will set the path that iMagic will use to open the TRIP Viewer when the agent clicks the TRIP Archive button on the iMagic Archive screen.

          Use Mapped Drive
With Use Mapped Drive selected (see image at left), you will need to select TRIP's drive letter in the first drop-down list, then navigate to the proper folder in the list below that. Normally, a MagnaTech technical support agent will have helped to set up the computer that has TRIP on it so that the proper folder is shared and the path that most agencies would use in this instance would be Y:\Trip. The path that you select will be displayed in the box on the bottom of this tab.

          Use UNC Path
If Use UNC Path is selected (see image at left), the drive box and folder navigation window will become inactive and you will have to type the Network path to the TRIP folder in the field at the bottom of the tab. The format for this would be \\[COMPUTERNAME]\Magna_y\TRIP, where the last part (\Magna_y\TRIP) will invariably be the same, but where the first part ([COMPUTERNAME]) is the network name of the computer that has TRIP installed on it.
